Fun Pics....

Tree hunting!

Good friends...Good Times!

Cowgirl? I sure hope so!

MAAAMAAA, DATTIE and kitty

My little girl has changed so much since I last posted. SORRY!
So we now have two bottom teeth that are beautiful! Emma tried to take a chunk out of dattie's leg and my chin....thank goodness there isn't a top row of teeth or we would be hurting units. Then on Saturday she figured out how to crawl. We were just waiting for her to figure out the moving of her hands with the legs. It didn't take more than one time of cordinating the two togethere and she has been non stop since. I was so glad that she waited for me to get home from Vegas before she started all of this. Guess I caught it just in time.

I got to attend the NFR for the first time in Las Vegas with my sister in law Jessica Bacon and friends Kelly Carlson and Dora Van Epps. What a great show they put on. I think it took us 5 hours to walk through Cowboy Christmas (enough to make my feet hurt). But the Rodeo was definitely the highlight of the trip. They definitely have their stuff together when it comes to this show. No time to get board or want to move on cause if you leave your seat for a second you miss an entire event or two. The opening ceremony was emotional. It was a tribute to pearl harbor victoms and servivors. I believe all four of us where crying and waving the American Flags they handed out as we came into the building. Just incredible. What a great 30th birthday present....just might have to make that a 31st birthday present too!

So much different then I imagined!

Ok...so all you mothers out there probably know what I'm talking about when I say that nobody has anything good to say about teething...nothing. I have just been patiently waiting for a fever and for really bad moods and changing clothes every two second....little to my knowledge while I was nervously waiting for the worst...My little princess popped her first tooth with no problems. Just this little ridge sticking out of her pink gums! We are so excited. Emma even puts her hands together and says yeaaaaaaaa! Exept is comes out more like yEAEAeeee.

So much has happened just in the last couple of days. Last monday she started babbling and out came MAMAMAMAMAMA! :) Love that! Then we discovered the Tooth. She just keeps working at the crawling thing and soon enough she will be graduating from High School moving on to college and Taking her mom on AWESOME TRIPS...Made her promise me that the other night!

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving...with so much to be thankful for.

love the bacons.

I think I can!

Well Emma is officially in the Thomas the Train mode. She has been sitting up by herself for quiet a while now but now she is leaning over and getting onto her hands and one knee and rocking back and forth. She gets a little mad at the other foot that gets stuck underneath of her. Pretty darn cute......but then she gives up and nose dives into the carpet.
I have to admit I'm a little bit on pins and needles about her crawling...cause she will hardly sit still now. I can only imagine what it is going to be like when she is actually able to get where she wants to go. :)

This weekend was a lot of fun. We had Erin Moore's baby shower at my mom and dads place. She got a lot of fun things for little Ms. Hannah! Can't wait to meet her. Emma had a ton of fun just playing and keeping an eye on all the other kids. When you hold her and she wants to move she kicks her legs like she is walking somewhere.(that is why I'm scared of the moveable stage!) She is constantly kicking her legs!
Then our friends Jason and Adrienne and Mike and Nichole came over and we deboned a turkey(ok so Andy did it) put stuffing over the top of the turkey and rolled it up and tied it and then baked it for 3 hours. It was pretty neat (not in the clean sense at all!). I made scalloped taters and we had an early turkey dinner. YUMMY!!!!

Hope everyone has a great week....

Life IS a rollercoaster.....

Everyone always talks about the Great side of being a parent...no one ever mentions all the heartache. So I haven't wrote in a while because on September 15th I caught someones cold. Lucky for us I gave it to Emma :) Poor little thing ended up with a 105.1 fever on Friday and we landed ourselves in the emergency room. They took blood from her little arm, sucked snot from her nose, took X-Rays...you name it, they did it. Mid way through I reminded Andy that it was our 5th Wedding Anniversary. Not much fun, but I have to admit after all the horror stories of the ER here that I have heard, they took really good care of my little one. They tested for everything you could think of and it all came clean (thank the lord) so it was just a virus that she would have to work through... so three days of fever and we finally got some sleep and then the actual cold symptoms (stuffy nose, cough) set in. That Wednesday I had a quiet 30th Birthdya with dinner at the palace with my family. It was last minute planning cause I wasn't sure how Emma would be feeling. So we made it through the cold and then the poor little thing couldn't go poo! We are talking 5 days of no poo. Ya know a long time ago I heard a comedian telling a joke that stated once you become a parent, all conversations turn to poop. Totally get it now. We celebrated a poo finally this morning and you would have thought we called in the media. There was so much excitement!

I told you that to tell you this, Emma had her first real food for the past two days. Nothing I would want, but don't tell her that. PRUNES! PRUNES! And more PRUNES! Ha! I told Andy that I hope we are around when she finally goes cause if not and it is in the middle of the night we might have a bit of a mess to pick up. But all is good.

So now we are on to the next adventure in parenting. Andy will be leaving on Friday and be gone for a week and a half hunting in Wyoming. Us girls are on our own...

Stay tuned for pictures of her first real food! They are a blast.

Family Fun!

Mount Saint Helens in the Background off of Windy Ridge.

This last week was so much fun. My Aunt Pam was in from Texas for the week with her husband Billy. We took a trip to Mt. Saint Helens (reminded myself that we need to make that trip early summer late spring). There was only dirty snow left and the bugs were horrible. But We all got to go and enjoy spending time with family. My hard working husband even stepped away from the shop for the day to go with us! WOW! Emma did really well in the car for all those hours on end. I was totally impressed. Thursday night dad smoked his famous ribs and once again they were AWESOME!

Friday night Andy and I enjoyed a date to the rodeo and a night out with Jessica and Frank...Saturday we all took Emma to the Parade and got rained out so we didn't make it to the fair (sorry Hope and Hailey) Then on Sunday when the clouds parted we made a mad dash to the fair to go and look through all the exibits. I enjoyed a Mystery Muffin demonstration while Emma ate. ;) Then again on Monday Andy and I had another date (crazy!) to the final rodeo. We sure had a good time. We haven't been away from Emma that much and I have to admit that it was fun to know she was in good hands (thanks mom) and be able to just relaxe for a little while. Even if it was on a hard bench cramped in the middle of 200 people...it was fun.

Grandma Jackie

Emma loves sitting on the patio with Grandma Jackie and enjoying the beautiful flowers.

Grandpa DURR!

My dad can make Emma just GIGGLE! I love it. We went up to visit him the other day cause he has been stuck at home after he had knee surgery.

So I have to explain my dads nickname DURR. When my brothers oldest daughter Hope was little, my dad would always say "DURR!!!!" when anyone would ask him stupid questions. Well Hope thought that DURR was his name....so to this day DURR has stuck!

TOO FAST!!!!

I am.......
rolling over from front to back and back to front, getting an opinion about things and how they need to happen, smiling every chance I get, grabbing ahold of things with my hands and putting them right into my mouth, learning to ride in the car a little more patiently, enjoying the time I get to spend with my cousins who make me laugh and spark my curiousity, enjoying my bath times and starting to splash around a little, trying to sit up by myself but still need some help staying upright, learning about kisses from mom, trying to hold my own bottle (this is a chore in itself) discovering new things everyday, laugh at myself and mommy in the mirror and most of all I am a happy health little girl that makes mom and dad's days brighter!

One in the Bed and the Little One Said ...roll over...roll over!

Well little Miss Emma achieved a big mile stone this weekend. On Saturday we were playing on the floor and she rolled over twice from her tummy to her back. Then of coarse I tried to show everyone and she will not do it again (or at least right now). But she sure is trying to go from her back to belly. She gets herself over to the side.

We heard the good news about our friends the Carlsons! Congratulations to Jason and Kayla on their new addition Riley! The boy tally is totally out doing the girl tally this year!

Somehow I got completely lucky this last week and won four tickets to the Kenney Chesney concert last saturday. What a great concert. Jessica, Kelly Clerf, Tara Kay and myself enjoyed Maranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum, Montgomery Gentry, Sugarland and Kenney. Wow! Talk about power packet event! Thanks to the girls for going with me. It was a long hot day...but I think we enjoyed ourselves.

Simple Sunday

On sunday the Bacons took on Salmon La Sac. Frank, Jessica, Jacob and Tyler joined Andy, Emma and myself on a hike up by Salmon La Sac. What a great way to spend the day. There was a really pretty waterfall at the end of the trail. Emma seemed to enjoy spending the whole day outside. I ended up carrying Emma most of the way though cause the trail was a little bumpy and she isn't quite big enough to sit in that big stroller without some support and silly me...I left the pack in the truck. It was well worth the cramp in my arm though!

Emma's Laugh

This weekend was the Youth State Softball Tournament here in town. Grandma Jackie watched Emma on Saturday so that I could keep score. It was a great time getting to be back at the ball field. Thanks mom for keeping Emma....I even got to get a little swimming in before I picked Emma back up. Emma must of had a great time...because she slept for ten hours last night and woke up kind of dazed. Today we celebrated Grandma Jackie's Birthday (although it isn't until thursday) with my brother, sister-in-law and Hope and Hailey. We had dinner at Mom and Dad's and then Cake and Ice Cream ( I swear Emma was mad that she didn't get any chocolate cake!) I don't know if the video is going to download or not but hopefully you will be able to watch Emma laughing! It is a hoot!

Proud Papa's Andy and his Good friend Mike with Emma and Cale.

4th of July Weekend fun!

This weekend was so much fun! I had Thursday - Sunday off and got to spend every day with my little peanut Emma. On Thursday we went and met up with Nichole and Cale Gray and Kari Finney and then made a trip out to visit Kyle and Erin's newest Edition Sam. What a CUTIE! It is fun that all three of our little ones are so close in age! Then on Friday Emma's Cousins Hailey and Hope were at my mom and dad's house for the weekend. We went and spent the day with the family. The girls went swimming in the old horse tank that we had as kids for a swimming pool.. Mom and Diane Moore made jam and Emma and I just observed a lot. Then on Saturday there was a fourth of July parade in Cle Elum and Grandpa Dur (my dad), Hope, Hailey and Grandma Bostick joined us for a couple of hours. Emma didn't even mind the Sirins!

Saturday night we enjoyed friends company at our house for a BBQ. Sunday was WONDERFUL! Andy watched Emma for a couple of hours and I got away (ACROSS THE ROAD) to Jessica and Franks to sit in the Pool for a couple of hours. What a great way to spend the afternoon! Thanks Jess!

Then we made our way out to Mike and Nicholes for a BBQ. It was great weather all weekend for activities outside.

Emma started something new yesterday...she is doing crunches! She thinks she is a big girl already. She is nosey and needs to see everything. It's wonderful!

****We have had two nights of sleeping through the night, in a row!!!!**** To some this may not seem like a big step...but AWESOME~!!! Nothing like a nights sleep.

I hope all had a safe and happy holiday weekend with friends and family!

Family Fun!

We had dinner with Cousins Jacob and Tyler. Emma was sleeping while everyone enjoyed burgers and Watermelon!

Emma went to her first softball game. Her Cousin Hope had her last Ball Game in North Bend. Hope played a great game....and Emma slept!

On Emma's first camping trip we had a 4th Birthday Party for her Cousin Hailey. We had a great time and Yummy Cake with our great Friends the Moore's, Friends from Dad's work....and yes...Emma Slept! Seems to be a pattern!

Our first Blog!

Please hang with me while I figure this whole new world out. I want to thank our great friend Melinda Mays for giving us all the information to start this wonderful page. I'm excited to be able to share all of our journeys with family and friends.

As you know Andy and I are enjoying the newest edition to our family and the reason for this blog, Emma Lea Rose Bacon. She is 12 weeks and 1 day old today and changing in so many ways. She starts her day with a smile. From the moment we walk into her room in the morning until the bottle is at her lips she is smiling and talking up a storm. She has definitely found her voice and is very willing to share her opinion. She is getting really strong and determined to hold herself up straight at every chance she gets. I love that she is following us around the room and definitely knows our voices.

I started back to work on June 16th and Emma is enjoying a couple days a week with Grandma Bacon and then a couple of days at a small daycare with her cousins Jacob and Tyler Bacon.

We hope everyone has a safe and fun holdiay weekend!

Love The Bacons
