Everyone always talks about the Great side of being a parent...no one ever mentions all the heartache. So I haven't wrote in a while because on September 15th I caught someones cold. Lucky for us I gave it to Emma :) Poor little thing ended up with a 105.1 fever on Friday and we landed ourselves in the emergency room. They took blood from her little arm, sucked snot from her nose, took X-Rays...you name it, they did it. Mid way through I reminded Andy that it was our 5th Wedding Anniversary. Not much fun, but I have to admit after all the horror stories of the ER here that I have heard, they took really good care of my little one. They tested for everything you could think of and it all came clean (thank the lord) so it was just a virus that she would have to work through... so three days of fever and we finally got some sleep and then the actual cold symptoms (stuffy nose, cough) set in. That Wednesday I had a quiet 30th Birthdya with dinner at the palace with my family. It was last minute planning cause I wasn't sure how Emma would be feeling. So we made it through the cold and then the poor little thing couldn't go poo! We are talking 5 days of no poo. Ya know a long time ago I heard a comedian telling a joke that stated once you become a parent, all conversations turn to poop. Totally get it now. We celebrated a poo finally this morning and you would have thought we called in the media. There was so much excitement!
I told you that to tell you this, Emma had her first real food for the past two days. Nothing I would want, but don't tell her that. PRUNES! PRUNES! And more PRUNES! Ha! I told Andy that I hope we are around when she finally goes cause if not and it is in the middle of the night we might have a bit of a mess to pick up. But all is good.
So now we are on to the next adventure in parenting. Andy will be leaving on Friday and be gone for a week and a half hunting in Wyoming. Us girls are on our own...
Stay tuned for pictures of her first real food! They are a blast.
